Palmer Man Dies in Local Creek Under Overturned ATV

ruraltrooperThe search for overdue Palmer hunter ended badly, when his remains were discovered in a Mat-Su Valley creek under his overturned ATV on Monday.

At 1:50 pm on Monday afternoon, troopers were informed of an overdue hunter identified as 59-year-old Michael D Anderson. Anderson had departed on a hunting trip near 6.5 of Palmer Fishhook Road on Sunday, then failed to return as scheduled.

Troopers, along with Mat-Su Firefighters immediately responded on ATVs to search for the missing man.

At just prior to 5 pm, Anderson was discovered deceased underneath his flipped ATV in a Mat-Su Creek by a separate group of ATV riders.
