Early Saturday morning at 3:16 am, troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1991 Subaru Loyale in the Wasilla area for an equipment violation.
As troopers pulled over the vehicle on North Seward Meridian Parkway and East Country Field Circle, and the vehicle cam to a stop, a passenger from the vehicle would exit the vehicle and flee on foot.
Troopers gave chase, and after a brief pursuit, troopers apprehended the runner and identified her as Paige Whitney, age 22, of Wasilla. She was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of MICS III, and MICS IV. At her arrest, she was found to have an ounce of marijuana and a pharmaceutical controlled substance.
An investigation would find that Whitney was attempting to sell a small amount of marijuana to the driver of the vehicle when troopers pulled them over. As a result, Whitney was also charged with two counts of MICS IV and MICS V.
Whitney was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with her bail set at $7,000 plus a court approved third party custodian.
