New details released by Alaska State Troopers have identified the pilot that died in the Willow crash on Wednesday and released additional details into the crash.

Troopers have released the name of the pilot as that of 24-year-old Colt Richter. Richter was piloting a Beaver for Regal Air when he went down shortly after takeoff from Willow Lake.

Richter was transporting cargo and a 30-year-old mother and her 2-year-old child to FBI Lake in the Skwentna area when he crashed into a wooded part of a residential area shortly after take-off.
