JUNEAU – Representative Scott Kawasaki will host a final town hall meeting of this session in Fairbanks on Saturday, March 30th.
The meeting will be held at the Noel Wien Library Conference Room from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Representative Kawasaki invites Fairbanksans to a discussion on issues like the budget, oil taxes, education, and energy for the Interior.
“The Legislature is wrapping up discussion on the budget and we are in the midst of debating oil taxes and pushing for action on the gas trucking proposal,” Kawasaki said. “This is a crucial time for Alaska and public input is essential in this process.”
Representative Kawasaki is on the House Finance Committee, the keystone of budget negotiations.
Other events Rep. Kawasaki will attend include the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Wood Center dining facility and the new engineering building at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. In 2012, Representative Kawasaki voted to secure funding for the engineering building included in last year’s capital budget.
