A traffic stop in Wasilla resulted in a very large drug bust after a Wasilla man was pulled over early Thursday morning.
30-year-old Wasilla resident Johnnylee Burk was pulled over by troopers on a traffic stop at 1:55 am on Thursday morning. During the traffic stop, Burk was found to be in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. With the assistance of the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit-Mat-Su, troopers arrested Burk on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III, four counts of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, and violating his conditions of release.
Burk was on conditions of release for a court case that he was awaiting trial on for MICS VI, that trial is scheduled for February.
Burk was found to be in the possession of 467 grams of methamphetamine at the time of the traffic stop.
Burk was arrested, transported, and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, where his bail was set at $100,000.
Troopers estimate the value of the drugs seized at $67,000.
