Troopers arrested a Big Lake man on DUI and weapons charges on Tuesday after a traffic stop the trooper dispatch reported.
Alaska State Troopers pulled over a green 1993 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 61-year-old Big Lake resident Anthony Malaspina, for a moving violation at 2:58 pm on Tuesday and found that the driver was impaired by alcohol according to the report.
The investigation at the scene would find that in addition to driving under the influence, Malaspina also had two undeclared firearms with him in the vehicle, one of which was a handgun concealed on his person.
“Malaspina was arrested at the scene for Driving Under the Influence, two counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fourth Degree and one count of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Fifth Degree,” the troopers stated.
Malaspina was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded and his bail set at $8,000.
