Alaska State Troopers arrested a Wasilla man for Felony DUI after he drove into the ditch on Thanksgiving night.
Troopers saw a 2001 Dodge Caravan lose control as it was performing a turn on Lucille Street near Nelson Avenue late Thursday night at 11:24 pm. After losing control, the vehicle went into the ditch alongside the road where it became stuck.
Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol contacted the driver, identified as 28-year-old Jared Laskowski after the mishap, and found him to be driving under the influence. He was promptly arrested for DUI. Further investigation would find that Laskowski had two previous DUIs in the last ten years, making this current DUI a Felony. It was also found that Laskowski was driving with a revoked license and also had a minor in the vehicle during this latest offense, and so was charged with DWLR and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. It was also determined that Laskowski was in violation of his conditions of release for a recent arrest and so was charged with that offense as well.
Laskowski was transported to the Mat Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with his bail set a $5,000 plus a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
