kodiak troopersFollowing an Alaska State Troopers response to a call of “two suspicious subjects building a campfire on a trail off the end of Beaver Lake Drive,” troopers would solve three burglary cases, and two Kodiak individuals were arrested on various theft and drug charges.

The caller reported that two people were yelling at each other at the location. When troopers went to the area they contacted 25-year-old Desiree Heglin and 25-year-old Richard Knagin, both of Kodiak. During contact, the trooper dispatch reported that “several stolen items connected with burglaries in the Kodiak area were observed.”

As the investigation by troopers and police ensued, it “revealed Heglin and Knagin were in possession of stolen property from a burglary that occurred at the Boy Scout Camp, Camp Mueller” on May 10th. More items from a May 17th St Paul Preschool burglary as well as another burglary at East Elementary on May 15th, were also recovered.

It was also found that Heglin was in possession of a controlled substance and was on conditions of release on an original charge of MICS IV.

As a result of the investigation, troopers arrested Heglin and Knagin and transported them to the Kodiak Jail where they were remanded on “three counts of Burglary in the Second Degree, six counts of Theft in the Second Degree, and Theft in the Fourth Degree.”

Additionally, Heglin was also charged with MICS IV and violating her conditions of release.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
