Troopers Nab “Bush Tire” Thief in Wasilla McDonalds Parking Lot

Alaska State Troopers revealed on Tuesday, that they had opened an investigation into the theft of Bush wheels from a 1950 Piper PA 20, after the theft was reported at 10:04 AM.

The investigation found that “significant damage” had been done to the aircraft, that was located near Bogard Road, as suspects worked to remove the wheels. After the wheels were taken from the aircraft, the plane was left on blocks.

It would be found that the thieves, once they had stolen the wheels, place them for sale online. Troopers say that they, as well as investigators from the Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit, went to the Wasilla McDonalds, the location that was chosen for the sale to take place.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]Once at the location, the stolen tires were found in the back of a gray Pontiac G6 sedan. Investigators immediately contacted the occupants of the vehicle.

Troopers would find that 22-year-old Donney S. Carlson was in possession of the stolen tires. As a result, Cooper’s placed Carlson under arrest and charged him with with Theft II and Criminal Mischief III. additionally troopers would find that Carlson had an outstanding warrant in another theft case, and he was arrested on that warrant as well.

During the investigation, troopers would make contact with another occupant of the vehicle, and identify him as 28-year-old Justin A Jacobsen of Wasilla. A background check would show troopers that Jacobsen also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failing to appear on felony DUI charges.

Both individuals were transported to Palmer’s Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded. Carlson’s bail was set at $12,500 And a Court-Approved Third-Party Custodian. Jacobsen’s bail was set at $5000, and was also required to have a Third-Party Custodian.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
