A caller reported a vehicle in the ditch, with the engine still running, and a man walking away from the scene at the intersection of Biscane Drive and Caprice Drive to the Alaska State Troopers on Saturday night.
When troopers from the Bureau of Highway Patrol-Southcentral arrived on the scene at approximately 10:30 pm, they found the original vehicle that was reported, 1994 Ford Explorer, as well as another vehicle, 2011 Chevrolet 1500, that was attempting to pull it out.
The officers identified the driver of the vehicle in the ditch as 33-year-old Wasilla resident William C. Tigert, and the driver that came to his assistance as 44-year-old Palmer resident Robert T Reid.

The trooper investigation at the scene found both of the men to be intoxicated.
Tigert was also found to be driving on a revoked driver’s license. His license was revoked because of a pending DUI case. Additionally, Tigert was found to have a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear for trial call on the DUI case and a Weapons Misconduct charge. Further, Tigert was out on bail for that case and had had conditons of release stating no alcohol and no driving.
Both men were arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility where they were remanded.
Authorities jailed Tigert on charges of DUI, DWLR, Violating Conditions of Release, as well as the active warrant. His bail is set at $5750 cash bail plus a court approved third party.
Reid was charged with DUI and his bail was set at $500.
