Troopers on the Kenai Peninsula are asking the public for information concerning a driver who caused a vehicle roll-over in Nikiski on Wednesday.

Alaska State troopers responded to milepost 4 of Holt Lamplight Road at 3:11 pm on Wednesday after receiving a report of a vehicle roll-over.

When troopers conducted their investigation, the discovered that a female driver in a Ford Escape had gone off the road and rolled after attempting to avoid a collision with an on-coming red Ford Explorer. That Explorer had been illegally passing another vehicle in a no passing zone.

The unidentified suspect in the Explorer had left the scene prior to the trooper’s arrival.
