Troopers Seek Info on Robbery-Assault at Valley Recycling Center

Alaska State Troopers are seeking information concerning a robbery and assault that took place at the Grant Metal Recycling Center that took place on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday, at 2:05 pm, a report went in to the Alaska State Troopers reporting a robbery and assault that occurred at the recycling center located near the intersection of the East Palmer-Wasilla Highway and 49th State Street.

It was reported that the suspect, a Caucasian male, who was driving a red, 4X4 pickup, assaulted, then robbed an employee at the center. The unidentified suspect took several hundred dollars and a cell phone from the employee then fled in the truck northbound on 49th State Street. The assaulted employee suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Troopers are asking that anyone who may have seen the red pickup, or has information concerning the incident, to contact the Alaska Bureau of Investigation in Palmer at 907-746-9131. Callers can also contact Crime-Stoppers anonymously at 745-3333.
