Troopers Take over Investigation of Fatal Petersburg Crash

image08-04-2015 09.03.54On Tuesday, July 5th, the Petersburg Police Department contacted Alaska State Troopers and requested that troopers take over the investigation of a fatal vehicle accident that occurred on Monday morning.

Troopers arrived in Petersburg on Wednesday and began their investigation of the cause and circumstances of the crash that occurred at approximately 7:25 am on July 4th, taking the lives of 18-year-old Molly Judge-Parks and 19-year-old Marie Giesgrecht.

Judge-Parks and Giesbrecht were passengers in the 2004 Ford E350 Econoline van when it crashed as it was traveling south on South Nordic Drive. 

The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old William “Chris” Allen, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital in Petersburg for treatment of his injuries. Another passenger in the van suffered minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital, treated, and released.
