Two occupants of Ford F-150 were injured and the vehicle was heavily damaged in a Sunday rollover in Palmer on Sunday.
Troopers received a report of a single vehicle accident near the intersection of Palmer Fishhook and Wasilla Fishhook at 9:04 am on Sunday. When troopers responded and conducted their investigation, they found that 17-year-old Wasilla resident, Summer Lowe, was driving a black 200 Ford F-150 southbound on Wasilla Fishhook when her truck began to fishtail and she collided with the guard rail. After she impacted the guard rail, Lowe left the roadway and rolled in the ditch.
As a result of the accident, Lowe suffered possible back injuries and was airlifted to Providence Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Her passenger, who remained unidentified, was not wearing a seat belt, suffered head injuries, and was rushed by EMS to Mat-Su Regional for treatment.
Lowe was cited for basic speed and no insurance. Her passenger was cited for failure to wear a seat belt.
