On Wednesday, troopers attempted to stop a 2005 Ford Ranger for an equipment violation at 3:52 pm on Cottonwood Loop in Wasilla. Instead of stopping, the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Codey Tallman, sped away from the trooper. Tallman also sped past a school bus with its red lights activated, troopers revealed.
Tallman drove to Pine Street, and once there, bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. Troopers set up a perimeter in the heavily populated subdivision as Tallman fled through several residential yards.
During his flight from authorities, Tallman encountered a homeowner that realized that Tallman was being pursued by troopers. The homeowner ordered Tallman to stop, but was ignored and instead Tallman shoved the homeowner. But, the homeowner told troopers that when Tallman charged him again, he pulled a firearm and shot at Tallman.
Troopers arrived, and Tallman was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Upon his release from the hospital, Tallman was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where he was remanded “on charges of Felony Eluding, MICS 4, DUI-Drugs, Assault 4, Reckless Driving, VCOR, Reckless Endangerment and Pass School Bus w/red Lights Activated,” troopers said in the trooper dispatch.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
