Wasilla Man Located after Leaving the Scene of Injury Accident

DUI_Patrol_02Alaska State Troopers responded to a single vehicle accident at 9:33 pm on Tuesday, only to find that the occupants of the vehicle had already fled the scene on foot, troopers reported.

The trooper investigation at the scene would find that the driver of the 2001 Subaru Legacy had lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and crashed off the side of the road at Mile four of Fairview Loop.

Troopers would locate the passenger of the vehicle a short distance away suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Jesse Rodriguez, was later located at a residence off of Fairview Loop. When contacted, Rodriguez was arrested on charges of DUI, Assault III, and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident. He was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. When there, Rodriguez refused to provide a sample of his breath for chemical testing and so was charged with that offense as well.

Rodriguez is being held without bail pending arraignment.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
