On Saturday afternoon the Alaska State Troopers received a call from the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
The report came in at approximately 3:30pm from the jail reporting an incidence of theft that had occurred there earlier in the day.
Apparently, according to the report, the facility released 28-year-old Wasilla resident Ronald Skoog from custody on his own recognizance after having been arrested on charges of Criminal Trespass.
It was after his release, that it was discovered that a portable breathalyzer was missing from the facility.

An investigation into the disappearance of the device included looking at surveillance video at the facility. That video evidence showed that as Skoog was being released, he stole the device. The PBT is valued at $500.
Skoog was re-arrested on the new charges of Theft II and Violating his Conditions of Release and the PBT was recovered.
The light-fingered Skoog was transported back to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility in Palmer and this time held on $3,000 bail.
