Wasilla Man Throws Puppy at Trooper in Effort to Get Away from Warrant Arrest

Alaska State Troopers reported on Monday morning that while an officer was on patrol in the Williwaw subdivision at 9:30 PM on Sunday night they observed a person known to have an outstanding warrant. and attempted to make contact with him.

When they approached the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Jordan Melton of Wasilla, he immediately “threw a puppy up the trooper and attempted to flee on foot,” the trooper Dispatch reported.

After throwing the puppy at the trooper, Melton attempted to flee from his impending arrest. The trooper, however, was able to take Melton into custody after a brief foot chase.

Melton was placed under arrest and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on the outstanding warrant and was held on $1000 bail.
