Troopers report that an attempted traffic stop resulted in an accident on the Parks Highway on Monday night.
Troopers attempted to pull over a tan 1996 Saturn for speeding at 8:39 pm on Monday night. But, instead of stopping, the vehicle, driven by 22 year-old Willow resident, Kala Patrick, sped away from the troopers.
As the vehicle fled troopers, it reached speeds of 100 mph and crossed into oncoming traffic. But, the chase ended at mile 65.5 of the highway when it ran into a ditch and crashed.
EMS and the Willow Fire Department responded to the scene, but no injuries were reported by the driver or the two juvenile passengers in the vehicle.
Troopers determined that Patrick had created a hazardous condition for the juvenile passengers when she chose to run from the officer. Patrick was arrested for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer I, Reckless Endangerment x2, and Reckless Driving.
Patrick was arrested and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there with her bail set at $3,000.
A search of court records provided no clues as to why Patrick fled the traffic stop. Her records showed no criminal history.
