An instance of Road Rage in Wasilla turned potentially deadly on Tuesday when one motorist fired toward another vehicle on Seldon Road during the early morning hours.
A call went in to the troopers from the victims of the incident at 5:26 am on Tuesday morning reporting that they had been shot at near the Teeland Middle School in Wasilla.
Troopers contacted the individuals and carried out an investigation. It was revealed that the two victims were traveling eastbound on on Schrock Road near Lucille Street in a Ford Escort when they came up behind a dark-green sports car convertible.
Then, according to Alaska State Troopers, “A Leap Frog Road Rage scenario ensued,” after which, the driver of the convertible, a caucasian male, exited his vehicle and tried to confront the driver and passenger by standing in front of the vehicle at a nearby intersection. But, the driver of the Escort attempted to flee from the impending conflict.
But, the driver of the sportscar wasn’t finished. He pursued the Escort and on Seldon, as the two vehicles approached the Seward-Meridian Parkway, he pulled up alongside the two in the Escort, produced a handgun, and fired off several rounds at the vehicle.
After shooting at the Escort, the sportscar sped from the scene.
There were no reported injuries in the incident, but the vehicle did take one round to the undercarriage.
Troopers are continuing the investigation into the incident and describe the vehicle as a dark-green sportscar convertible with a black top. They report that there were two Caucasian males in the car. Troopers are asking anyone with information to come forward.
