Alaska State Troopers announced the arrest of two Anchorage residents after an extended investigation by Statewide Drug Enforcement-Mat-Su Unit into heroin distribution in the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage area.
Alaska State Troopers arrested 21-year-old Vincenzo “Vinnie” Yacovelli and his girlfriend 19-year-old Caitlynn Horton at a Swanson Street address in Wasilla on Monday afternoon. They were arrested without incident.
When arrested, troopers discovered that the two were in “possession of 13.62 grams of heroin, 26.41 grams of methamphetamine and approximately $10,000.00 in cash.” the trooper dispatch informs. Troopers estimate the street value of the seized drugs were approximately $9,500.
Just one day prior to her arrest, Horton posed for a photo depicting her holding several rubber-banded wads of cash in one hand and holding a small handgun in the other. She was posed in front of a picture of Al Pacino sitting at a desk with a weapon out in the movie “Scarface.” That image was posted by her to her Facebook page.
The arrests were a result of a months-long investigation headed by SDEU-Mat Su with assistance from Palmer AST patrol, Anchorage WAANT and Anchorage SCIU.
