Just after midnight on Saturday morning the first call went in to Alaska State Troopers in Aniak. The call came from a minor in the community of Kalskag. She reported that her 23-year-old relative was drunk and fighting with other family members. The child reported that Gina Samuelson then “left the house yelling and throwing rocks.”
Later in the morning, an unrelated male called in to the troopers to report that he had been hit with a rock that Samuelson had wielded and had suffered a gash on his forehead. The man reported to troopers that after being struck by Samuelson, she climbed onto a four-wheeler and was riding it up and down the street “creating a hazardous condition to people and vehicles on the roadway” according to the trooper dispatch.
Still later, another call went in to the Aniak post by a 28-year-old resident in Kalskag reporting that Samuelson had stolen her four-wheeler and had driven it around Kalskag until it had broken down.
Troopers arrived in Kalskag on Sunday and performed their investigation. Subsequent to that investigation, Gina Samuelson was arrested and transported to Bethel where she was remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center on charges of Assault II, Theft II, and DUI.
