After not hearing from her mother for several hours, 23-year-old Danielle Thrush made a call to report her missing at 2:20 pm on Sunday afternoon.
Danielle reported to authorities that her mother had not been heard from for several hours and in addition, had missed a doctor’s appointment.
An active search for 50-year-old Wasilla resident Donna Thrush was begun.
At around 11:pm, Donna Thrush’s vehicle was located at the pull-out at mile 50 of the Glenn Highway. Further investigation at the scene would later discover the body of a female about 350 feet down the embankment nearby.
Palmer Fire and Rescue repelled down the embankment and recovered the body of Thrush and her remains were tranported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy.
At this time, no foul play is expected but the investigation into Donna Thrush’s death is continuing.
