Delta Junction Teen Arrested for Arson in Weekend Fire

Troopers identified a suspect and suspicious vehicle in the house fire on Clearwater Extension in Delta Junction that occured on Sunday.

During their investigation on Monday, troopers found that their suspect, a 16-year-old Delta Junction teen set fire to the residence to cover up the fact that he set the fire to attempt to cover up a burglary that he committed at the residence.

The teen also admitted to setting fire to the Clearwater Lodge on May 15th of this year.

The teen was charged with multiple counts of Arson, Theft, and other offenses in connection with the two fires.

Troopers are still unsure if others were involved in the crimes and their investigation into the burglaries and fires continues.
