It was reported by Alaska State Trooper dispatch on Thursday that in the early morning hours of May 12 Alaska State Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol responded to a REDDI (Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately) at the Club Hydro on Bogard Road.
They had responded to a call reporting a two-door sports car that had almost crashed in the parking lot. The caller reported that the vehicle, which was later identified as a Ford Mustang, had been traveling at a high rate of speed in the parking lot when the near miss occurred.

Then, a male was seen exiting the driver’s side of the vehicle and give the vehicle a once over surveying for damage. After which, a female got out of the vehicle and re-entered on the driver’s side and the vehicle left the parking lot.
Troopers with the Bureau of Highway Patrol would soon locate the vehicle according to the report. The Mustang was observed doing “doughnuts” in the parking lot of a church nearby. As troopers attempted to make contact, the Mustang sped away, leading troopers on a chase towards Palmer.
The vehicle lost control as it attempted to pull back into the parking lot at Club Hydro. It was at that time that a male was seen exiting the driver’s side of the Mustang and fleeing on foot. The female, now in the passenger seat did not flee with the male. The female was identified as Tamra L. Johnson, age 33 of Wasilla.
Troopers from the Palmer Patrol as well as the Bureau of Highway Patrol, with the assistance of the Wasilla Police Department commenced a foot pursuit of the fleeing subject. After a brief chase, the male, identified as 30-year-old Wasilla resident Jeremy R. Hildebrand, was apprehended in the woods a short distance away.
Separate investigations were performed, and both Hildebrand and Johnson were found to have been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Both suspects refused to provide a sample of their breath for chemical testing as is required by law.
33-year-old Johnson was charged with DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, transported, and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial and her bail was set at $500.
Meanwhile, Hildebrand was charged with Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Police Officer I, Reckless Driving, DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. Further investigation would find that Hildebrand was also in violation of his probation.
Hildebrand was transported and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial and his bail was set at $15,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian on the current charges. But he was held with no bail set on the probation violation charges.
Both Johnson and Hildebrand appeared in Palmer Court for arraignment. Johnson bailed out on Monday with her next court date on June 6th.
Hildebrand remains in custody and has his next appearance on May 22nd.
