An Anchorage woman was arrested for DUI on Wednesday, despite efforts by a passenger in the vehicle to “hinder prosecution,” after troopers responded to investigate, the trooper dispatch reported on Thursday.
Troopers responded to the collision at the Glenn Highway/Parks Highway Interchange at 6:30 pm to find that 23-year-old Mechelle Gaffney collided with the guardrail as she was negotiating the interchange.
As troopers were investigating the collision, a passenger in the vehicle, who remains unidentified as they have not yet been charged, attempted to hinder the DUI investigation.
While charges of Hindering Prosecution II have been forwarded to the District Attorney, Gaffney was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, but, released on her own recognizance.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]
