Egigik Man Arrested with Three Pounds of Meth in Ketchikan

drug bustThe United States Department of Justice is crediting the United States Coast Guard Investigative Service and the Alaska State Troopers Drug Unit for the investigation that led to drug charges against an Egigik man after he was detained on the Kennicott on Wednesday, U.S. Attorney Karen L Loeffler announced.

According to the Wednesday press release by the Justice Department, 20-year-old Jason Corey Vincent Alto was arrested in Ketchikan on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Over 500 Grams or More, after he was found to have over three pounds of Methamphetamine in his possession.

Alto was traveling to Whittier from Washington when he was detained in Ketchikan.

If convicted on the Grand Jury indictment, Alto faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and up to life imprisonment with a $10,000,000 fine, the Justice Department reported.

Alto remains in custody in Ketchikan.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
