Fairbanks Driver Robs Passenger at Gunpoint

Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of an armed robbery near the Fairgrounds off of College Road in Fairbanks during the early morning hours on Tuesday the trooper dispatch reports.

Troopers received a call reporting an armed robbery at 5:46 am on Tuesday morning, after a woman called in reporting that she had been held up.

Troopers traveled to the scene off of College Road and located the female caller. When contacted, the victim said that she had been robbed by a male acquaintance of hers.

She reported to troopers that she had been in a vehicle with 19-year-old Levi Skulstad near the fairgrounds, when he pulled out a pistol and demanded that she give him her money. After she did so, he ordered her out of the vehicle. After she got out, Skulstad reportedly took off, leaving the victim behind.

With a description of the vehicle and driver, Fairbanks police located and pulled Skulstad over. When contacted, Skulstad was found to be in possession of cannabis and bills in the denomination reported to be stolen.

Skulstad’s vehicle was seized and a search is pending, troopers report.

Skulstad was arrested, transported and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center, where he was booked on charges of Robbery I, Assault III, and Theft II.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigations is continuing the investigation into the incident.
