A 56-year-old Kodiak mother contacted troopers on Monday reporting that her son was suicidal.
Troopers responded immediately to the report at 11:12 am. Troopers would find that as they were enroute to the scene, the 29-year-old man had taken a table and had set it on fire.
When troopers arrived at the scene, they would find that the man had fashioned a noose and had hung it from a second floor balcony.
Also, while at the residence, troopers would find a marijuana grow inside the home.
The man was taken into protective custody and transported to the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for a mental evaluation.
Charges of Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief V, DV Criminal Negligent Burning II, and Misconduct Involving a controlled Substance V were also forwarded to the Kodiak District Attorneys Office.
