Man Attempting to Kidnap Teen Arrested on Old Glenn Highway

Anchorage police report that they arrested a man residing along the Old Glenn Highway, 19-year-old Lor P Lee, for attempting to kidnap a 13-year-old boy at the bike crossing on the Old Glenn Highway at before 2 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

According to APD officers responded to the juvenile’s residence in Eagle River to begin an investigation after receiving a 911 call. During their interview with the victim,they were told, that as he “was riding his bike on a trail alongside the Old Glenn Highway, when he got to the intersection of where the bike trail crosses Fire Lake Drive, he saw” the suspect on foot who said he was looking for a missing child.

When the victim got off of his bicycle and told Lee that he hadn’t seen anyone, Lee offered the victim a ride. The victim declined at which time Lee grabbed the victim by the arms and told him “he needed to come along or would be killed,” APD reported.

Lee let go of one of the child’s arms and pulled a knife from his pocket. And only after making more threats, did Lee let go of the victim and put the knife back in his pocket.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]

The victim lashed out and punched Lee in the face, Lee attempted to hit the juvenile victim but only grazed him as he got on his bike and pedaled away. Lee gave a short chase before giving up and walking back to his vehicle. The victim was able to get the license plate number.

That plate number led police to a residence on the 16500-block of the Old Glenn Highway. When police made contact at the residence Lee was there with several other people but was positively identified.

After being questioned at the department, Lee was placed under arrest for kidnapping and Assault III.

Lee is in court for arraignment this afternoon.
