North Pole Man Arrested after Passing out Behind Wheel

On Wednesday at 7:33 pm, troopers contacted a vehicle at a road construction zone. The driver, North Pole resident, 28-year-old Jared G. Seay, was asleep behind the wheel of the vehicle, a 1997 Ford Explorer.

The trooper investigation would find that Seay had fallen asleep while waiting for the pilot car at the construction zone at mile 249 of the highway.

Further investigation would find that Seay was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time. It was also  found that Seay was in possession of a controlled substance and so was in violation of his probation.

Seay was transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center where he was remanded and held without bail on charges of DUI, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II,III,and V and Probation Violation.
