One Injured by Gunfire at Bragaw/DeBarr Incident

 

Anchorage police began receiving reports of shots fired in the area of Debarr and Bragaw Street on Wednesday evening then minutes later, at 10:08 pm, they were contacted by a local hospital reporting a gunshot victim being treated, APD revealed.

An investigation was opened in the incident and APD found that while four individuals were inside of a vehicle in the DeBarr area, the occupants got into a fight in the vehicle. During the altercation, one of the occupants discharged a weapon inside the car.

One of the occupants was struck in the lower body suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

After shooting the victim, the shooter and one other got out of the vehicle and fled the scene. One occupant, the driver, remained with the victim and transported him to the hospital for treatment of his injury.

Police say the investigation into the incident is continuing and report that they believe everyone in the vehicle knew each other.

No arrests have been made in the isolated incident.
