Last month, the Anchorage Police Department along with its federal, state and local partners conducted one of its largest crime suppression sweeps of violent offenders called Operation Midnight Sun (click on link: local.nixle.com/alert/6640880/).
Officers made multiple arrests including 52 for felony and misdemeanor warrants and more than 400 grams of drugs were seized. Almost $44,000 in cash was seized as well as 23 guns (7 of which were stolen) during this operation. Also, another Retail Detail was conducted in which 14 suspects were arrested at the Fred Meyer on Debarr Road (click on link: local.nixle.com/alert/6642720/).

As with Retail Detail, the community can expect to see more of these operations in the future.
