Suspicious Vehicle Response Nabs Felon in Possession Outside Mountain View Store

A Mountain View caller alerted Anchorage police to a vehicle that appeared to be casing the Michaels arts and craft store at 3090 Mountain View Dr. last Wednesday afternoon, APD divulged on Monday.

APD reports that the alert caller reported a white Ford F1 50 had been driving around the parking lot for approximately 30 minutes. Police responded to the parking lot and saw that the suspect vehicle had been parked in front of Michael’s, taking up multiple parking spaces.

When contacted, the driver, later identified as 28-year-old Robert L Green, told officers that he did not know his social security number. When asked his birth date, the suspect “gave the officers several different dates of birth,” APD said.

Once Green’s true identity was ascertained, it was found that he violated conditions of release in a pending May felon in possession of a firearm charge and had violated by cutting off his ankle monitor. His arrest was requested by the Department of Corrections Pre-trial Division.

As Green was exiting his vehicle to be taken into custody, a pistol magazine fell onto the ground. Officers then observed additional pistol magazines in plain sight inside the pickup.

He was charged with False Info and Violating Conditions.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]

A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Jessica Jones. She was found to have an existing warrant for her arrest on a Criminal Trespass II charge dated June 5th.

Both were arraigned on Thursday.

Jones was released on $25 bail. Green’s bail was set at $500 cash performance in the May case and  $250 Unsecured Appearance and $750 cash performance. Vinelink shows Green remains in custody.
