Alaska State Troopers responded to a Big Lake residence after a 911 call was made from there reporting an assault that took place off of South Jib Circle on Tuesday morning.
The trooper investigation would find that 26-year-old Bethel resident Brandon Cleveland assaulted a family member before leaving the residence.
Further investigation of the incident would find that 26-year-old Dustin Stanford of Wasilla drove Cleveland, Kammi Gilbert, age 23, and the victim from Big Lake to Wasilla while intoxicated and without a driver’s license.
As the investigation continued, it was determined that Gilbert had hindered prosecution in the apprehension of Stanford during the investigation.
Cleveland, Stanford and Gilbert were all arrested at a residence off of East Beech Way in Wasilla and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility, where they were remanded.
Gilbert was held on charges of hindering prosecution II and bail was set at $150. Stanford was charged with DUI and NVOL and his bail was set at $1,000. Stanford was charged with Assault IV and he was held without bail.
The victim was transported by EMS for treatment of minor injuries.
