After a brief foot-chase on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway Extension, Alaska State Troopers caught up to, and arrested 31-year-old Wasilla resident Jessica Russel.
The foot-chase began at a Creekside Drive residence, on Saturday night at 11:45 pm, where troopers had been attempting to locate Russel for Failure to Remand to serve jail time on criminal charges.

After her arrest, Russel was transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility to serve out her sentence.
Their investigation into the incident, found that 29-year-old Wasilla resident Joseph Alcantra had actively assisted Russel in her avoidance of the troopers. Alcantra was arrested for Hindering Prosecution II. Further investigation found that Alcantra was on Felony Probation and was in violation of several of his probation conditions. When Alcantra was arrested, he was found to have a small amount of Marijuana on his person. He was subsequently charged with Misconduct Involving a Controled Substance VI.
Alcantra was transported and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial.
Alcantra was arraigned on Sunday morning. His next court day is on May 23 for pre-trial conference.
