Alaska State Troopers were kept busy on Saturday night and early Sunday morning at the Warm August Nights music festival at the Kodiak Fairgrounds, issuing citations and making arrests as well as investigating theft.

Their evening began with an arrest of a 20-year-old woman at 9:18 pm on Saturday night after receiving a  report of an unconscious woman at the grounds. Responding troopers determined that Rachelle Abbott of Kodiak was intoxicated. Abbott initially refused treatment by EMS but was later taken to the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center. After she was cleared from the center, troopers arrested and remanded her to the Kodiak Jail. She was arrested on Habitual Minor Consuming Alcohol as she had three prior Minor Consuming charges in the past.

A little over two hours later, at 11:30 pm, troopers would observe 25-year-old Alex Troutman smoking marijuana while they were patrolling the grounds. He was issued a summons to appear in court for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance VI and released on his own recognizance.

In the following hour after midnight, troopers would issue citations to four more underage drinkers at the Fairgrounds. During that same hour, at 24 minutes after midnight, a woman reported her purse stolen from a table there.

Then at 1:09 am, troopers contacted 21-year-old Blane Maloney of Tennessee at the festival and found that he had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Complete Work Service on the original charge of Theft IV. He was arrested, transported and remanded to the Kodiak Jail without bail to serve his 60 hours in jail.

At 2:05 am, troopers were notified by the parents of a 19-year-old girl had returned from the festival in an inebriated state. Troopers responded to the residence and issued the girl a citation for Minor Consuming Alcohol.

The Kodiak Fairgrounds is about three miles past the Coast Guard base southwest of the  city of Kodiak.
