At 10:20 am on Monday morning, Soldotna-based troopers contacted the driver and passenger of a vehicle stuck on the road in Nikiski. They identified 33-year-old John Ray Stubblefield as the person who drove the vehicle to the location where it was stuck. They found that he had been driving on a license that had been revoked for a previous DUI and was driving without a required ignition interlock device.

Additionally, they contacted and identified the passenger in the vehicle as 31-year-old Christopher Roy Spiers. Further investigation of Spiers would find that he was wanted on three outstanding warrants that included “numerous charges of Burglary 1st degree, Burglary 2nd degree, 15 charges of Theft 2nd degree, and several charges of Criminal Mischief 3rd degree,” troopers reported. Spier’s warrants totaled $10,000 and a Court Appointed Third Party.

Spiers was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

While Spiers was transported to Kenai, where he was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility with no bail on his warrants and charges, Stubblefield was issued mandatory court citations for DWLR and Driving in Violation of a License Limitation.
