Troopers received a call concerning a woman slumped over the steering wheel near the Seward Meridian Highway and the Palmer Highway in Wasilla on Saturday evening at approximately 7:30 pm.

Troopers responded to the scene, but the woman in question had already driven away from the scene towards the Parks Highway by the time they arrived.

Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a stop on the vehicle on East Fireweed Lane near the Parks Highway and the Seward Meridian.

An investigation at the scene would find that the woman, identified as Cassandra Pitka, was driving with a revoked license and troopers also suspected that she was under the influence of a controlled substance.

While searching the vehicle, troopers found multiple instances of narcotic paraphernalia.

Pitka was arrested for DWLR and DUI. She was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded with her bail set at $750.
