Willow Woman Drinks Bottle of Whiskey at Gas Pump, Arrested for DUI

On Friday afternoon, Alaska State Troopers received a REDDI report at 3:16 pm from a citizen of the Willow Townsite reporting a possible DUI leaving the Food Mart there.

The caller reported that a woman had purchased a bottle of whiskey at the store and then proceeded to drink the entire bottle while at the gas pump at the store before driving away north on the Parks Highway. The caller described the vehicle to officers.

Troopers responded and located the 2004 silver Mercedes at a residence on Grubstake Street in Willow.

Troopers contacted the female driver of the vehicle and identified her as 65-year-old Willow resident Anne McClain. Troopers investigated the incident, and that investigation “revealed McLain was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage,” according to the trooper dispatch.

McClain was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where she was remanded and her bail set at $1,000.
