Woman Steals Driver’s Money During Traffic Stop

On Friday, October 31st, Alaska State Troopers out of Crown Point pulled over a vehicle at mile 3 of the Seward Highway.

Troopers contacted the driver as well as a passenger in the vehicle.

Troopers talked with the driver outside of the vehicle during the 9:30 pm traffic stop.

While troopers were speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the passenger, identified as 36-year-old Fairbanks resident Carrie Pinckley, accessed the center compartment, located the driver’s wallet and took a $100 bill from it.

Troopers investigated the theft at the scene and would find that Pinckley had the exact amount off money that was reportedly taken from the wallet and admitted to the theft.

Pinckley was arrested on charges of Theft IV and transported to the Seward Jail where she was remanded on the charges.
