A REDDI report went in to the Bureau of Highway Patrol and Alaska State Troopers on Friday afternoon at approximately 5:13 pm reporting an intoxicated motorist in south Anchorage.
Troopers responded and located the vehicle, a brown 1998 Chevy Blazer, and it was stopped for erratic driving on Dimond Boulevard at 2:04 am on Saturday morning.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Jonathan Jongkol Cowden of Anchorage. QAt contact, it was found that Cowden had been operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently charged with DUI. Further investigation found that Cowden was operating the vehicvle while his license was revoked and so, was charged with that offense as well.
It was also found that Cowden had two warrants for his arrest for probation violations. Court records show that Cowden has had multiple probation violations for offenses of Burglary I, Assault IV, and Reckless Endangerment x3, stemming from a case in Unalaska which he was indicted for in 2008. During commission of those offenses in 2008, Cowden was already on probation for a prior case.
Cowden was arrested and transported to the Anchorage Jail and his bail set at $20,750.
