An Aniak man, Valka Nickolie, age 49, was arrested on charges of Assault IV (DV) after troopers responded to the scene of the assault and investigated the incident on Saturday.
Troopers arrested Nickolie at 8:42 pm on Saturday after they found that he had punched a female victim repeatedly in the face. He was housed at the Aniak jail and on Sunday was arraigned.
At his arraignment, Nickolie pleaded guilty to the charges. As a result, Nickolie was sentenced to 360 days in jail with 180 suspended, additionally, he was placed under probation for a period of four years.
Following court, Nickolie was transported to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel to complete his time.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
