Alaska State Troopers received a request to make a welfare check on a Fairbanks woman at a residence there on Wednesday and responded to the residence.

After arriving at the residence in Fairbanks, troopers verified that the woman in question was ok.

During their investigation at the residence, troopers contacted 47-year-old Jesse Katairoak of Fairbanks. A quick check of Katairoak would find that he had failed to register as a sex offender.

As a result, Katairoak was arrested and charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender II, and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
