Glenn Highway REDDI Driver Arrested on Multiple Charges

An Anchorage man was arrested on several charges after multiple tipsters called into AST and reported a REDDI vehicle on the Glenn Highway at 7:27 pm on Sunday evening, troopers reported Monday morning.

According to the trooper dispatch, “The complainants reported a maroon Jeep Cherokee was all over the road and the Cherokee’s speed ranged from 90 mph to 110 mph” on the Glenn Highway near Thunderbird Falls.

Troopers responded to the area and located the reported REDDI  driver and pulled him over at mile 34 of the highway. The driver was identified as Tony Noi Vongthalangsy, 26 of Anchorage. 

 

Vongthalangsy was determined to be dring under the influence of a controlled substance and a minor was found to be in the vehicle.[xyz-ihs snippet=”adsense-body-ad”]Also located in the vehicle during the investigation, were two pistols, one of which had been modified to function fully automatic.

Vongthalangsy was arrested and charged with DUI, Refusal, Endangering Welfare of a Minor, Misconduct Involving a Weapon III, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV x2.

Vongthalangsy was remanded into custody at Matsu Pretrial in Palmer.
