Motorcyclist Dies in Thursday Sterling Collision

A motorcycle driver suffered fatal injuries in Sterling late Thursday afternoon after colliding with another vehicle and being thrown from his motorcycle, AST reported.

Troopers were notified the fatal accident at 5 pm on Thursday and responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. Upon arrival at Sandline Drive and Joyful Circle in Sterling, they interviewed the driver of the Chevy pickup involved in the accident.

They found that the driver of a Chevy pickup was turning onto Sandline Drive from Joyful Circle when he saw a BMW motorcycle traveling towards him on Sandline Drive. The driver attempted to swerve to avoid collision and the motorcycle attempted to swerve as well. The attempt to avoid collision was unsuccessful and the motorcycle impacted the front passenger side of the truck and was thrown from his bike.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adversal-468×60″]

The biker landed off of the road and despite wearing a helmet, suffered fatal injuries and succumbed at the scene. His identity has not been revealed pending next of kin notification.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
