Alaska State Troopers made a stop on a black 2002 Dodge Dakota pickup after it was reported as a REDDI vehicle near mile 287 of the Parks Highway near Nenana on Thursday.
After stopping the vehicle, the driver was identified by his driver’s license as 35-year-old Salcha resident Jason Christman.

Further investigation into Christman would find that he had been operating his vehicle while under the influence fo alcohol, leading to his subsequent arrest.
Christman resisted arrest while being taken into custody, but was subdued and transported to the Nenana Trooper Post where he was placed in a holding cell. Christman was apparently unhappy with his accomadations and attempted to escape his cell by attempting to kick the door open. His actions caused approximately $1,500 worth of damage to the cell.
Christman was later transported to the Fairbanks Correctional Center and remanded there on charges of DUI, Resisting Arrest, Attempted Escape IV, and Criminal Mischief.
