Anchorage man, Isaac Landecker pled guilty at arraignment on Wednesday for taking a Brown Bear during the closed season.
As a result of his guilty plea, Landecker was fined $3,000 with $1,500 suspended. He was additionally ordered to pay restitution of $1,300 and placed on probation for three years.
Landecker’s plea was a direct result of an Alaska Wildlife Trooper two-day field investigation in the Pingston Creek Drainage area in the Unit 19C Management area. The AWT investigation would find that Landecker had taken a Brown Bear on August 10th while on a Sheep-hunting trip near Black Mountain. The investigation also revealed that Landecker had finished up the finish skinning near the airstrip at Pingston Creek.
Wildlife troopers seized the hide and skull and also took the skinned out paws that they recovered from near Pingston Creek.
