A Soldotna man was arrested on Child Pornography/Exploitation charges at a mall there on Tuesday after a months-long investigation, the trooper dispatch reported on Christmas Eve.
30-year-old Brian Jones was contacted and arrested at the Peninsula Center Mall on December 23rd on two counts of Online Enticement of a Minor, three counts of Possession of Child Pornography, two counts of Distribution of Indecent Material to a Minor and two counts of Unlawful Exploitation of a Minor.
The arrest came as a result of an investigation that was initiated on April 16th, after the Alaska Bureau of Investigation “received information of possible inappropriate Communications,” between the suspect and a 14-year-old girl from Soldotna says the Alaska State Troopers.
The troopers reported at that time that their initial investigation of “computer equipment and electronic storage devices seized from Brian’s residence revealed images related to child pornography.”
Jones was remanded to the Wildwood Pretrial Facility with no bail set. He was arraigned on the charges on Christmas Eve, his next court date is set for January 5th, 2015.
