Troopers Recover Two Stolen Vehicles During Disturbance Call

trooperarrestAt 8 pm on Sunday night, when troopers responded to a disturbance call at an address of off Pioneer Peak in Wasilla, they discovered two vehicles at the residence that had previously been reported as stolen in Anchorage.

Troopers contacted two males at the residence, 32-year-old Derek Twete, and 22-year-old Joshua Payton, both of Wasilla.

During their investigation at the scene troopers would find that Twete had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Failure to Appear for the original charge of DWLR.

Payton also was found to have warrants issued for his arrest. He had three warrants, two for DWLR, and one for Eluding.

It was also found during the investigation of the stolen vehicles, that the two men had stolen one of the vehicles in Anchorage, then painted the vehicle a different color to alter its appearance.

The investigation into the second vehicle is continuing.

Both men were arrested and transported to the Mat Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there without bail on the new charges.
